Are down. Wondering about Lamar & how they are to work things out with their students. We will know more when our crew gets back to Austin. I hope there isn’t injuries or deaths in Buna. We do have lots to be thankful for. Jonell

Hello Buna folks,

All of our family are safe and sound. We all are in several different places but safe. Bro Delbert and I are in Ft. Worth. Del's 89 year-old mom was visiting us; we had to get her back home. We talked to Paul Swearingen; he and his wife Kay stayed at the nursing home. Paul told us last night that the plan is to evacuate the nursing home on Monday.

Central Baptist had some roof damage to new building, and the old building had the shingles blown off. Many trees blown down and the sidewalk awnings all blown away. The parsonage had no apparent damage. The oak tree in the front yard fell but not on the house.......praise to Jesus........

Many people have trees on their homes; it is our understanding that it may be up to two weeks before the electricity is back on. Brent Stark's(Amber's husband) dad, Willie Stark, is a Jasper county commissioner; he says there is no need to return to Buna because there is no electricty and no water........it is so hot....

Pray for our daughter Crystal and her husband Brandon. They have a home in Bridge City. They do not know the status of their home yet.

We believe with prayer and the help of Jesus we will all overcome this great tragedy. Our love and prayers are with our dear friends of Buna, Texas.

9/25/5 - Can anyone please give some information on 2907 County Road 715 in Buna. My mother and stepfather live on that road and I was needing information on the damage in that area. They are safe in Vicksburg, Mississippi with their family, but wanted information on their house. Their names are Paul and Debra Pettway. 9/25/5 - Carolyn Hammond, Butch and Mary Furlough evacuated to Dallas and are safe. I heard that their houses were ok but would appreciate it if you have knowledge to let me know.

Fanny and Clark Wright had several trees land on their home and one did pretty good damage. They are all ok though as I talked to Ms. Wright yesterday. If anyone needs anything email me and I will round up anything you need. There are Buna people no longer in Buna who are really wanting to help. Please let us help. 9/24/5 - Margaret and Bobby Holmes are fine. They are with their son, Jamey, in Henderson. Their house was damaged by a large tree being blown on it, but it may not be too bad all things considered.

9/24/5 - I'm looking for my sister, Angelina, and her husband Barry Blevins. They fled their damaged house in Kirbyville to seek refuge with a friend in Buna.
