RITA UPDATES :

11/21/5 - The Buna location of the Jasper Newton Co. Public Health Department was damaged from Hurricane Rita. We are practicing out of the Kirbyville location call 423-6133 and ask for Martha. We are looking forward to reopening in November.
We will be giving Flu and Tetanus shots in Buna at the Community Room behind County Bank on Friday October 28, 2005 at 8:00 am. The cost of Flu is $25.00 and Medicare/medicaid accepted. There will be no cost for the Tetanus for Hurricane victims.

11/15/5 - A group of men from Wedgwood Baptist Church is planning to come to Buna the week after Thanksgiving to do free clean-up work. Please e-mail info@bunatx.com if you or someone you know could use some help.

10/10/5 - Lights are returning to the Buna area. Traveling around the area last night, we saw lights on Hwy 96 from Dairy Queen to the red light. Electricity has been restored along Lone Oak Road, Hwy 1004, and on 62 through town.

The banks, post office, Western Auto, Ace Hardware, fire station all have power. The red lights were not functioning, but people were being very cordial at the temporary stop sign postings.

10/6/5 - I was asked to report the following information from the Buna ISD Administration Office:

ALL Buna Staff will report to their campus on Monday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 11 from 9:00am-1:15pm.

ALL Buna Students will report to their campus on Wednesday, October 12 from 9:00am-1:15pm.

The Buses will run.

If you have any questions please call 409-994-5101. There are staff members in the administration office answering the phones.
